What Information Should My Invoices Include
Assume it is Monday, May 1, the first business day of the month, and you have just been hired?
Question
Credit security: Computer technician looking at my Financial files?
My computer had problems and I took to a home based computer technician. When I went to pick it up he asked me to check the files. I checked my most important Excel file that has my financial information including my credit card and debit card numbers (just in case I lost my purse). He told me to come back after 30 minutes so that he can do the diagnostics and prepare the invoice. When I came back he and other technician were looking at my files. He may have backed up my files. I got very bad vibe from them, What should I do ?

Make sure you have all THEIR information: names, business license, and whether or not they are bonded and insured. If they are bonded, you have an edge, as if anything happens to your financial information such as you start getting unauthorized charges on your credit card, you can alert not only your credit card company to this situation and provide them with the information, but also contact the bonding company and file a complaint requesting they get their client to resolve the issue. If it were proved that the technician was indeed using your financial information, the bonding company would be liable to reimburse you and you could file legal charges with the appropriate authority in your area. Best rule of thumb: If you keep financial information on your computer, back it up yourself then use a shredder utility to take if off the computer before you turn it over to anyone for diagnostics.
