Question

How do i get my clothing line in retail stores?

i've owned a fairly successful clothing line for a couple of years now. we've done events that have shown a lot of interest from the public. my company has a website but online purchasing is not available yet. i would like to approach retailers to have them carry my clothing line in store and have already compiled a list of small boutiques and local retailers to contact. what should i say? how should i go about pitching this idea to the owner? what type of questions should i expect them to ask me about my business? what should i expect in general?

You should start visiting Fashion-Incubator.com daily. It's a site with free advice for people who want to start a clothing line and covers all the related topics. There's over 1,600 articles. You should also seriously consider getting the book the site is based on, The Entrepreneur's Guide to Sewn Product Manufacturing. To get you started, here's an entry called Selling clothes to stores www ... good luck!
