Question
Tips for an apartment in the Kansas City area? Moving there for work, don't know the area at all.?
I am moving to Kansas City from Michigan in a week and a half. I have been hunting down apartments like crazy, checking apartmentratings.com, etc, and I keep coming up short. I find a place I like, but the ratings suck. I know that sometimes people only rate it when they have problems, soooo, help me! I will be working at AMC Theatres Home Office at 920 Main St, Kansas City, MO. I need a 1 or 2 Bedroom Apartment for 400-600/mo. Must have high speed access (doesn't seem to be an issue, but putting it out there). In unit Washer/Dryer would be great! Also would prefer central air not window units. So if anyone lives/has lived in any nice apartments around there, I would be so happy to hear about it. I want to stay within 20 minutes drive, the shorter the better. A safe neighborhood is my main concern as well.

Definitely check out ForRent.com. I have narrowed down your search to Kansas City with your price range and it comes up with 10 exact matches. By quickly looking, it looks like you will not have a problem finding central air and a washer/dryer in a unit: www ... I recommend you look at all the photos and community theaters available as well as contacting the property themselves to give you more specific information. You can even print out a brochure! Good luck and I hope this helps!

Try some of the Lofts downtown....there are a lot of them and I think they are pretty fairly priced. Just go to Google and search "downtown Kansas City lofts" You could probably walk to work depending on if you found something good. There are also a lot of good apts north of the river which would only be like a 10/15 minute drive. Hopefully this helps!
