Make everyone accountable for safety. Safety needs to become number one in everything your organization does. First in meetings, first thing done on a shift (toolbox talk), etc. Management needs to completely buy in, they cant talk safety only when it doesnt get in the way of profitability. Sometimes making a few bucks more could mean putting someone in danger. Make it a point to walk the walk, set the example and others will follow. It may be painful at first but it is worth it. Everyone should go home the way they came to work, its about people not numbers.
