Question
Cost of living trends in the united States?
Hey, so im 20 years old and looking to move out soon and need a little help. I live in New Jersey with my parents at the moment, which is one of the most expensive states in the country. I want to get out of here badly for a number of reasons, including the expenses. I was wondering if someone could link me a site that gives the cost of living trends for all of the states in the USA over the years. www ... This link is very helpful to see the current average cost of living in all of the states, but it does not show the price trends over the years. So, I have no idea which states are rapidly and consistently rising in cost (and should probably be avoided) or which ones may be a bit more expensive at the moment, but have been decreasing reliably over the years. Does anyone know of a place where I could find this information?

First off - I hear Texas is the place where most NY and NJ people are moving to because there are tons of jobs being created there and the costs are pretty low (like $200k for a house that would cost you $600-$800k here). Yea Jersey is very expensive as well as Long Island (where I live) but there's a reason for that. There are more jobs in NY and NJ than anywhere else, even after this crisis, and if you lose your job in a cheap state you'll have a real tough time finding something equivalent unlike NJ and NY.
