Please HELP ME- How to advertise effectively in PHONE BOOK?
I plan to open business this November but I have no clues how to advertise. I called YellowPages and they want to charge me $130 per month for a little less than one inch. I called YellowBook and they want to charge me $50 for an Inch ad. The most reason I want to advertise is they must put my information online in yahoo and google search that is what I'm willing to pay the most. Seem like nobody wants to help me with this. :(. There are so much costs to spend for a little business. Can you give me any idea? is Yellow Pages book better than YellowBook because under yahoo/google search it will appear more?

why in the hell would you want to advertise in the yellowpages and pay them for it???????????? when the yellowpages guy dropped a book on my doorstep the other day, i literally chased him down and gave it back and told him to keep it.... No one uses the yellow pages anymore and it's certainly not worth 130 a month to be in a giant book that no one reads.. i promise you that. as far as the internet side of it, i've done it and .... you can get just as much internet action by doing a little of your own advertising or doing google adwords as you can by this if not A LOT more using adwords .. we had a videography business and we were paying for that crap. in 1 year we got 10 calls from it and paid for their most expensive one. we got 500 from google adwords.. not worth it... have a website built and then learn about SEO... if you need help with some of this stuff email me.. but... don't do the yellow pages thing.. it would be your first bad investment as a company
