Question

break lease benefits or not..?

Heres my situtation... I am in a lease right now with my apartment complexes which are a big company, and i want to break it. The reason being is that i have the option to move out of state and live rent free for about a year.. The lease states that i could pay one months rent to get out of it but i dont have that money right now.. If i move i would finally be able to get a car and save TONS of money... I guess im asking if breaking my lease and having it show up on my credit is worth living rent free and having my car. Or should i just stay until my lease is over...which is another year away...i live in colorado by the way and am moving to Nevada if i decide to do so... would they sue me? any imput would be healthy

Yes, they will sue you. You will loose. You will owe the money and the legal fees. This will show up on your credit report for 10 years, you will not be able to easily rent during that time and of course it could effect your employment opportunities as well.

neither, find someone to live in your unit and pay rent to you. it is called a "sandwich lease."

you can break the lease for only one months rent? that is a good deal. Try to scrape up the money for one more months rent so that your credit rating isn't crap. Because even if you have a car and save tons of money, eventually you will want to buy or rent again.
