how to get from idea to distribution?
i have an idea, a desert that i have created but want to get it to market and dont have a clue how to. i am a gifted cooker of deserts and think i could be an enterpenuer but need to get it going... in as mcuh detail as possible, from packaging (i can design logo and images i guess) to producing mass, do i need lisence as it is food, how would i work out shelf life as goods like this need, even legal stuff, what i need to do in detail to get from stage of creating the desert to having it produced ready to try and build orders... cheers

You need to work out if there is a market for what you are selling first, how much and where are going to sell it? Then you can worry about the rest of it. A starting point would be to get a stall at a market somewhere, then get feedback from your customers. Get a marketing text book to learn about everything else. The 4 P's in the marketing mix is a good starting point: 1) Product - Ingredients, shelf life, preparation time, packaging 2) Price - Will the product sell at a price high enough to cover your cost plus a profit. 3) Place - Where are you going to sell it, how will it be positioned. E.g. low price high volume or higher priced lower volume premium product 4) Promotion - how are you going to market it, who is your target market
