Question

Is there a way to locate properties that don't have addressess on the internet, but they do have latitude/lont?

There's a couple of properties (in acres) located in Presidio County, TX. that I want to do some research and find the exact location. How do I go about tackling this task on the internet? I have the GPS coordinates, longtitude and latitude. Please, someone help. e-mail me or call me at; 562-254-5267

I am not sure of what you are looking for but I am going to assume you are looking for boundary locations or property lines. On the internet you can use Google Earth. Just plug in your Lat/Long and it should pull up an aerial view. Don't forget to specify North and west; i.e. 92.8N, 102.14W. If you need to convert degrees, minutes, seconds into decimal, you can use this link: www ... If that doesn't get you what you want, try visiting the County Tax assessors office. Tax folk tend to keep better records than the clerk of courts, at least in my experience. They are usually pretty helpful and allow you to look over the platt. If it is the same presidio county, TX that I am thinking of, you should be able to get that info in Marfa.

The county recorder of deeds has property maps with all the recorded deeds. Unless your state is a "Meets and Bounds" state, the Longitude and Latitude are a part of the legal description and get you right to the correct book of records you want to look at. In most counties I think this service is free except for copies. I assume if you can drive to the property, you can also drive to the county office of records. If Texas is a Meets and Bounds state, you can locate a landmark near it that will show up on the recorded plats to assist you in cross coordinating the property from that landmark or nearby intersection of two roads. Often, the people who work in these county offices can help you search the paper maps or the microfiche archives. You are then in a position to also find the current owner of record which may be what you need anyway.
