Question

Do you think today's unions are just organized extortionists?

The day of the sweatshop is long gone. Union employees are far overpaid and do sub-par work. This can all be seen by how they ran Detroit straight into the ground. They don't get their way and they strike. They are like adult two year olds crying in a toy store until they get their new doll. Foreign Automakers who make automobiles in the US, using American workers make far superior cars. Trucks are another thing, but we are talking cars. They pay employees less, produce better product, sell cars for less, and make big profits. Explain. Bub-Seriously all you ever say is the management did it. I sure would like to get paid 70 bucks an hour to watch a machine. All of you just spit the propaganda that is beat into your head in your meetings. Unions are horrible for our country.

Sadly people like you who have no idea of what you speak are a big part of our problem. No, unions are as needed now as ever. In case you have forgotten, no one from the union was ever a CEO, CFO or plant manager of any of the big three. Greedy, ignorant publicans ran them into the ground. The foreign nameplates are hardly superior to American nameplates, maybe you haven't checked the rankings lately? They are in as bad financial shape as our companies are, their countries are helping them out also. Even the exalted one, Toyo is in a huge slump.
