Americanexpress.com/applydeltagold RSVP needed?

I am looking to apply for the Delta Gold from AMEX but don't have an RSVP. Do I really need one to get the credit card? Also will I still get the bonus miles?

The RSVP is simply a way for them to track their marketing efforts. However if you go through their website you will not get the extra free miles! You can get 25,000 bonus miles and have the annual fee waived for the first year by going through www ... . You get 20,000 miles instantly and 5000 for adding two authorized users. Hope that helps!

That appears to be a marketing gimmick targeted only at people they sent out a mailing to. You apparently aren't one of them. If you really want another credit card, just go to www ... for the regular Delta AMEX card. You'll still get some free miles for that.
