Question
is there any way to break into the Condo selling business without having a real estate license?
i would like to do that because i think i'd be good at it (able to sell alot of properties to rich people i know), but i'm just wondering if i need any type of license and why? i actually think it's stupid you would need a license because isn't the main thing just to sell the product? i'm a very good sales person. i have heard of people being barred from being able to sell real estate or having their licenses taken away, so i'm assuming the answer to my question maybe is "yes you do need one" but why? and is there anywhere where i don't? .. it seems like people based on the net might be able to get around all that? ... ok well then, say i know an agent ... could they just give me a finders fee, for sending clientelle there way, and if so, does anyone know how much that might be? like say on a $500,000 dollar condo or something? ... why are finders fees illegal? i had no idea though and i thank you all for your help

Both selling without a license and finders fees are illegal in the US. Selling is only a tiny part of the RE sales person job. The rest deals with contracts and contract law, and personal information, such as peoples finances. Licenses are super easy to get, you should not have a problem.

A real estate license only increases your sales ability -- You get access to the MLS system and you are fully registered -- it's a low cost to pay

You NEED A LICENSE. The license proves that you understand all the legalities and technicalities involved in selling real estate, and that you are qualified to give (somewhat) financial and legal advice to buyers. It proves that you're reasonably well versed in tax laws affecting real estate transactions, and that you won't be recommending houses to people that are out of the price range they can realistically afford. You can't sell real estate without a license. Don't try. You don't want to go through the lawsuit that would inevitably follow.

The license is a requirement in most states. Could work at a management company, realty office.
