Question

Personal Injury Protection: Loss of Service?

I have a question about Loss of service. I was in a MVA in June and the lady who t-boned me and myself both have state farm and today I got some papers in the mail that talk about Personal Injury Protection. Within the papers they cover Medical Expenses, Loss of Earnings and Loss of Services. I have no idea what the loss of services are. Can someone tell me what that would be??? I do not work, I am a stay at home mom. So im not missing any wages.

Loss of Services is basically reimbursement for reasonable expenses incurred for ordinary and necessary services you would have performed (except for the injury) for the benefit of your household, during the time you are unable to work. These services can include maid services, lawn care, etc. This is a generalized explanation. Read your policy or ask your insurance agent to be sure you are correctly informed. Good luck!

Loss of services, are services you have to hire because you're unable to perform them due to your injury. IN your case, it would be hiring a sitter or housekeeper for a week, if your back was too sore to pick up the baby. It can include hiring a guy to do the lawn, if your ankle is sprained, etc. ANY service you have to hire, but normally do yourself.
