Question
Which bank has the highest savings interest rate?
I'm looking to open a savings account. I currently have one with wells fargo, which I think gives a pretty lousy interest rate. Are there any suggestions? US bank? Bank of America?

The Web site bankrate.com is highly-reputable and it keeps up-to-date information on the rates at different banks. One of the best rates in the country right now is Ally Bank, which has 2% on its savings accounts, and you can set up accounts online. (If you want to go into a branch it all depends what banks are in your area -- you can check that on bankrate too!) Rates are low right now because the government lowered interest rates in response to the financial crisis. In a couple years they'll raise rates again and the interest rate on savings accounts will improve. Until then, nobody is going to have that great of rates. Bankrate is a good site with lots of reliable information, and should have what you're looking for...
