designing a logo
Graphic Designers: If you work at a small company that requires outside design approvals...?
Question
How would one go about registering a logo?
I'm designing a logo for my uncles construction buisness. After he approves it, do I need to do anything or should I let him take care of the rest?

If you are located in the U.S., your logo is to be submitted to the U.S. Copyright Office. The link to learn about the application process is below. I applied for and received copyright protection for my logo years ago. It's not a simple task, but it is doable, so don't give up. Good luck. Shirley George Frazier Author and Small Business Expert

Visit www.uspto.gov for an appropriate trademark application. The whole submission process is pretty straight forward and may cost upwards of $600+ for an IP attorney to complete the whole process which involves an extensive search of prior trademarked logos. Good luck!
