If your business is a corporation and you are a paid officer or employee of the corporation you can use form 2106. If your business is a proprietorship or a Limited Liability Company you are not considered to be an employee, but a business owner. In which case instead of taking your business expenses on the form 2106 you should be taking them on your Schedule C. Hope this helps Jerry-the-bookkeeper
