Security Business. Good idea? Bad idea?

In this market today what do you guys think are my odds in developing a security business from scratch meaning camera's, sound, invalid entry, door chimes, figure print scanners on door the whole nine yards with security. How well or bad do you think i will do? Rivals will most likely be ADT and others

good idea, the worst the economy gets the more crime that will happen. You just have to have competative prices...

To be honest, it's one of the better business ideas I have seen on here in a while. It sounds like you know what youre doing, so what you need to do now is research. If you cannot beat competitors systems or prices, then you will most likely fail. Nobody will want to pay a higher price for you for an inferior system than ADT. Do some research, get some prices then go from there. It could be a good business if run properly though.
