Question

How To Start A Website For My Business?

I asked this question before, but didnt quite get the help I needed. I need to know how to create a website that can accept payment for product. I am just starting my business, so I really don't have the money to pay for a professional website, although it's something I will do if the business succeeds. It just needs to be pretty basic for now. I'd like to have my own .Com for my business name have my own logo on the top of the pages post pictures of the products and have the ability for people to order product and pay. I first need to know where to go so i can start designing my website. Thanks so much in advance for your help!

I did it without training. But I researched a bit. 1] First is to buy the domain name that you want. Go to one of the domain name sellers like godaddy.com. I don't work for them. You can go to many sites for this. It is not expensive. $12.00 a year or less. Choose a name that goes with your site theme or products. 2] Then you need a hosting site. This is where your files will be kept and your web site address comes from. The hosting company could even be the one that provides the domain name. This cost me about $24 a month or it may be less. They will give you a control panel to see your web site files and upload and download files as you update or change your products etc.. 2a] Also when you are ready to upload files you will need a file transfer protocol or FTP program to actually move your files to the hosting site. I use filezilla to move files. 3] Then you need a way to make your pages. I use adobe dream-weaver. It is a program that makes building a site a little easier if you have some basic HTML knowledge. 4] So you get a domain, hosting site, ftp program, web design program. Then you can make your web pages by using templets or basic pages. There is a lot more to this. 5] Collecting payments is not to difficult at first. Join paypal if you have not yet done so. If you join as a business which is easy, they will give you the code packets for payment buttons. Contact me if you want more assistance for free. I am doing a basic site for an auction seller. This company just wants to display some of the many things they get and maybe sell excess multiple items.

You either need to hire somebody or teach yourself some real technical stuff. Honestly… Shopping car e-commerce back end web design is complicated stuff for a novice. Could take you some time to learn, and looking for information someplace more sophisticated than here would be a good start. Before starting your own web site. Perhaps an Ebay store would be a good option. If you really want to dive in head first, I would register your domain name and get web hosting through Godaddy. After that… I have no idea how to do anything more complicated than a Wordpress blog or a simple machines forum. If you want to outsource, I recommend posting your project at Guru.com where web developers can bid on your project.

You must register a domain after that the easiest way for a novice to build a web site is to start with a web template. Web Templates can be customized and you can use the layout but swap the graphics etc.... this will get you comfortable with basic HTML design and an HTML editor (like Dreamweaver). Here are some resources for free or inexpensive templates that are easy to edit and manage. Webmaster Templates - www ... Free Web Templates - www ... Web Design Elements - www ... Free Website Templates - www ... Free Layouts - www ... Free Templates Online - www ... HTML website templates can significantly ease the burden of designing and creating websites by providing webmasters with a ready-made web layout, structure, basic graphics, and color scheme. The templates can generally be edited and customized with any HTML editor.
