You are entitled to one free credit report from each of the 3 main agencies. If you have received one during the past 12 months from experian, they will charge you for this one. Also - if you checked that box about finding your "credit score" - there was a charge for that, and I believe it is $14.50 You can get back on the credit report page and file a dispute for any information that you find there. Use that form to vent your concerns - at least it will get reviewed by a real person and checked into.

they must have dinged your debit card. you inadvertently answered a question that authorized them to do this. keep calling experian.

If you didn't put in your debit card number somewhere, they probably got it from information in the credit report itself. Call your bank to dispute the charge, file a BBB complaint, etc. The correct place to get your government-mandated free credit reports is annualcreditreport ... . The others lure you in and trick you into signing up for add-ons like credit scores and credit monitoring services.

Are you sure you didn't give them your debit card number? You signed up for monitoring services. They ALWAYS ask for a credit or debit card before you get your free credit report. Good luck cancelling the monitoring service. They never seem to make it easy. You get your free annual credit reports from each of the three credit bureaus online thru AnnualCreditReport.com. This is the ONLY site that does not require a credit or debit card and you won't be signed up for monitoring services.
