Question

Would Walgreens or CVS hire a 14-year-old? [it is legal with a worker's permit]?

I am trying to earn some money. I do things like babysit and chores around the house. i do not ask for money because i feel that i shouldn't charge for helping out my parents or charge friends of the family when they just need a break from their kids. thus, i only find it reliable to get a real job. i've done my research and know that i need a permit [i can get one at school because they have summer school] for it to be legal. i found some places close by but i don't know if they would hire me. I don't have any specialties like majors in production or design. But i know it's possible [i have some friends who work at fast food places] Anyway- if i got through the process and applied to a Wal-Greens or CVS would they even consider hiring me? i say walgreens and CVS because i live right across the street from them. and i'm almost 15. i'm 14 and 7 months [really close :)] also, i'm not trying to earn money to buy like and iPod or something stupid. my sister is at college and is having money problems. i'm a little freaked becasue i don't want to have money problems when i am in college. i want to earn money and save it.

No, you generally can't work at any place that sells cigarettes or alcohol until you're sixteen. I work at CVS, and have been for about 14 months. I had to wait til I was 16 to get hired. Other places though might hire you. Just not a drugstore.
