Can an employee be asked to repay funds stolen from a business?
If money is stolen from a business and there is no evidence that the money was stolen by the employee, can he/she be asked to pay back the money that was stolen by the owner, or be threatened with losing their job or having the police called?

Of course the owner can ask and threaten it. Proving it may be harder. If there is truly no evidence, then there should be no legal repercussions.

Yes charges can be pressed and they can also lose their job it just depends on their evidence if they hadn't already fired the person or called the police they might not have any. They just may want to scare sumone into telling the truth.
