Chase bank
Question
Visa or Mastercard? Which is better?
I'm getting a credit card from my local bank, not for rewards but just as a card to use. I know how to use credit cards and all, and I can pay my bills. But now, which one should I get? The type of card I'm getting comes with either Visa or Mastercard. I've had both with Bank of America and Chase and Wachovia. Which is better, Visa or Mastercard? Is there really anyway to compare? I'm not going for rewards, and customer service is dealt with from my bank, but does it make a difference? Which is more "respected" if you may? Which one and why? Thanks.

They're both basically the same because any place that accepts Visa will also accept Mastercard. BUT what I have noticed is that Visa seems to get much more offers than Mastercard. I look for deals online and I always see an offer if you have a Visa, but never any offer for Mastercard. Like I believe last time I saw an offer if you have a Visa, you can get 2 free movie tickets from Fandango. And another offer was a free admission ticket to certain museums. So I guess go with Visa, they have more offers.

As far as the logos go, they're equal. Different companies, like the bank, handle the programs. They are both universally accepted, unlike Discover and Amex. Flip a coin and either choice will work just fine :)

6 of one , 1/2 doz of the other to me . Had both , can't tell a difference , except my cash back cards now seem to be VISA . As I never pay % , I don't really pay attention to the rates , Since it has Zero effect on me . And they both have the rental car insurance thing so not sure what else there is , Both the same to me . >
