Question
How much does an employer take out of your check for health care benfits?
I just recently got a new job, and they have not given me my benefits information yet. I am trying to figure out how much will be taken out of my check for health care benefits. The insurance company is blue cross and blue shield. I plan to choose a HMO, and it will only be me on the coverage.

~~Every employer can choose the amount of the premium they want to pay and pass the remainder to the employee. Therefore we can't tell you, you will have to ask your HR dept or manager.~~

Human Resources Department will tell you exactly how much is being deducted.

Ask your employer, they know for sure the amount and can figure it out. Hope you aren't into Nobama and his socialist plan for health care - wait till you get THAT taken out of your check! You'll know electing him has been a big mistake....

The cost to each employee for their share of the health insurance premiums will vary widely depending on the plan your employer has, the number of employees in the group, the company you're insured with etc. Also, the percentage amount of the premium the company pays and the employee pays will vary from company to company. Some companies pay all the premium, some charge employees, 5%, 10%, 50%, etc. Only your employer (human resources department) will be able to tell you exactly what your costs will be.

Nobody here will have the slightest idea, not even a ballpark figure. It will depend upon the premium, which will depend upon the plan (they have dozens of different plans), the percentage that the employer pays, the size and health history of the group, the state and even the zip code in which the business is located. It will also depend upon how often you get paid.

This is something that no one can tell you except your employers as it varies from one organization to another.
