Question

New to credit...How can I build my credit?

So I just got a job and the money will start comming soon so I want to start building my credit. Do I need 2 or 3 credit cards to build it and what type of cards are best Visa, Mastercard or American Express? I'm only buying what I can pay off. So whenever I can pay cash i'm just using my credit and putting the cash to the side for the monthly bill. So I never plan to have a balance or pay interest or anything like that. Do they just give credit cards to anyone? Where do I get them? I'm brand new to credit so I have nothing on my credit record.

With so many questions you would be far better off to learn how credit works right from the source FICO. Use the link I have provided www ... At least there you will get the correct answers and not ideas from many.

It really doesn't matter what type of card you get or how many, as long as you use it/them responsibly. They all help build your credit equally. Since you'll be a first-timer, I would try applying for a Capital One card since they often approve people with no prior credit history.

I hate to tell you but credit is not really all that unless you're trying to buy a home.Put you're money in the bank and get secured credit cards from the bank only that means the bank is saying you got what you got.at a low interest rate,If you start getting credit from everybody you want be able to keep up,

You are asking an astute question. Do you have a bank account? If you have had it a year or more and handled it without problems, ask your banker to help you apply for a card (Mastercard or Visa). It should not have an annual fee. A limit of $500 is all you need for now. You can ask it be raised later on if you care to. One is quite enough for now. Pay it just as you suggested, always knowing where the money is coming from before charging. Don't get caught up worrying about your credit score. In a few years it will be quite high. There is no way to rush that. If you need a loan in the future, go to your bank or credit union for it. If the loan is for a car, shop at the bank or cu first. Then compare that with what the dealer offers and make your decision after reading all the fine print carefully. You have the right attitude to do well.

there are a couple of ways you could start building credit, you could get a small personal loan which you might need a cosigner or the best way will be getting a credit cards, you could get a credit card and use it for your every day expenses but make sure you pay in full at the end of the month that way it will show pay in full everytime the credit card company reports to the credit beuros. At the begining you will only be approved for the lower end credit cards but once you build credit in about 6-9 months you should be able to apply for a better card with better benefits such as free miles or cash back. Check out www.fastcreditcardapprovals.com and go under bad or no credit section and you will find a few choices. But if you are a student apply of a student credit card these cards have no annual fees and low rates
