Question
Someone stole my credit card number... now what?
I filed a report with the local police, contacted my bank, and also contacted the two locations from where the fraudulent charges are from. I also put a stop on my credit card and put a 90 day fraud alert on my credit with Experian. I spoke to the officer handling it and he said he checked into it and found out who did this but didnt say what action they will take against her. (I do not know who it is, only her city and gender). Question: Will they prosecute for charges under $200?? Nothing like this has ever happened to me or anyone I know.. I am SO careful with my personal information and do not make online purchases other than Ebay or Amazon. I am scared that she has my SS number... I hate this feeling!! I dont think I should take any more action, right? I mean I should just let the police handle it even though I feel like I have a right to know!!!! :(
