break-even analysis
Question
how much does it cost/earn to run a music instrument store?
Hey, I'm new to this. I already had this question up and had one answer which was great. I then screwed it up and now it's a huge mess of details and sounds a bit seedy too. Anyway, I'm in school with a project where I need to make a hypothetical business plan. The only business I understand well is a music store, so I used that for the first few assignments. I now have to make a hypothetical income statement and break even analysis, and since I can't find a publicly traded music store it's hard to guess about how much revenue, cost of goods sold, equity, etc to put down. If anyone can give me even some vague details it would help. Also, it I could get in touch with you just to be able to cite you for as a source it would be even better. Thanks a lot.

search The Music Trades magazine and MMR (Musical Merchants Review) these are 2 of the top magazines for music stores. it will have the publically trades stores like Sam Ash and Guitar Center. Im in wholesale distributing and I have some stores that sell $60k a year and others that have multiple stores that sell a couple million a year.
