trying to do a SWOT analysis on apple. the apple website are unbelievable any helpful, any suggestions?
strengths ; Apple is a very successful company, well established etc. No cash or financial problems. Brand awareness (which is all-important to Apple) Loyalty from customers/Brand loyalty – gains new customers aswell as retaining them. Many customers return for more Apple products, especially with new up-to-date products with better technology. Focus on design - Design unique to capture customers eye Simple and easy to use products. Knows how to diversify, from Mp3 players to computers to phones. and also link them together, such as to update an iPod, iTunes is required. Its stock price is the highest in the personal computer industry. Apple has linked it’s products together, such as the iPhone uses iTunes (and will therefore need a computer) whilst it is also a phone and allows users to surf the web etc. iTunes is also part of the music Can benefit from economies of scale, well established links with suppliers and retailers. Recently introduced the iPhone, new product, new market, well diversified. weaknesses; Apple may find it hard to suit their prices to their target market; due to their products being highly priced but aimed at younger consumers, therefore it may be seen that products such as the iPod are purchased more around Christmas etc. Recently Apple have changed their chip supplier, this may effect their stakeholders who are concerned about their products working most effectively/efficiently. oppurtunities; Apple have now developed one largely popular mobile phone, they may be able to break into the mobile phone market even further. With Apple trying to break into different markets, such as with new Netbooks, new people are attracted to Apple, away from competitors such as Microsoft and Acer. threats; Strong competition from other companies in different markets. strengths is pretty much complete. presentation is for friday. pretty stuck atm any helpful suggestions specific to apple preferably. since other websites appear to be specific to one product such as "the iphone - strengths new technology" etc.
