My laptop got stolen while in hospital, would contents insurance cover it?

Your contents coverage will cover the lap top. However, your deducible will apply. Also the contents coverage pays for a lap top similar to the one you had. The thing with computer claims, computers get out dated pretty quick. So a lap top that was top of the line last year is just a mid-grade this year. You may want to price out lap tops. If you have a 500 deductible and the lap top will cost 600 to replace with a similar model, insurance would only pay 100. You will also need to file a police report.

it should cover it but for the price of a lap top it is not wise to file a claim. your premiums will be increased and you will end up paying more in premium increases than value of laptop.

yes - providing it was theft - not mislaid and....it would be subject to your deductible and -if it was theft - then you must report it to the Police
