make sure it's a checking account- banks no longer allow paypal transactions via a savings account- because it cost them money why not try a credit card gift card- they can be used anywhere and can be uased like a credit card but only pay up to what is on the card

Go online and open a paypal account and get a paypal debit card. All you need is a bank account of your own.
