How do I dispose off a property in Bangladesh and transfer the proceeds?
Dear Reader I am a Bangladeshi national by birth and a physician by profession. I have recently acquired South African citizenship through naturilization and plan on settling here permanently. As such, I would like to dispose off some property that I had acquired some time back and bring the funds here. Could you please provide your considerate input in this matter? I am aware of the strict regulations by Bangladesh Bank regarding foreign currency transfers. Are there any exemptions to this for people that have renounced their citizenship?? Also, kindly provide information about any pitfalls in dealing with these so called 'dalals' i.e. brokers. All input will be highly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

The answer to your question is highly 'technical' in nature. Most probably lawyers dealing with such property transfers would be able to answer them properly and with authority too. However, as the adage goes: "Nothing comes free", you may have to write or contact the lawyer and set the fee for getting professional service. If you feel the need to have the e-mail address of the Senior lawyer then I may help you upon your request so that you workout your details before getting finally committed to get the job done.
