It is all depends on the type of your insurance and what is it cover, it vairy from one ploicy to another, some of them will cover things damadge even by yourself lat alone a handy man, I would suggest either you read your ploicy or even call your insurance company and they will advice.

Handy man? Do you mean if he damages your property or your property damages him? Your property is covered and some policies cover legal costs should you or someone else sustain injury in your home. You have to check your policy. But if he is working in your home he should have insurance anyway.

He should have his own insurance. What you need is public liability Insurance, you will have to look through your documents to see if it is there.
