Question

Do franchises count in your net worth?

Just curious... I am planning on starting a company which will own franchises. I have a nice chunk of change to invest... When calculating a company's net worth, do franchises count? Aren't they like just rented, not owned. Idk... For example, Sant Chatwal's Hampshire hotels own many franchised hotels, including boutique ones..

Not sure what you mean. You can either own: land building franchise contract that pays royalties all 3 The contract itself has value because it is a legally binding agreement, and hopefully is generating cash flow, meaning it is an asset, and has value.
