Question

ebay: Should this person get a refund?

The end of September (2007) I had listed a NEW, never opened 486 computer and monitor for local pick up. A truck driver from out of state won the item for $20 and said he would pick it up on one of his routes in about a month. I reluctantly agreed, I Just wanted the huge boxes out of my house. I have not heard from him until today, 9mo later, he calls my cell and leaves VM and asked when he could pick it up! Well, 3 months ago I donated the computer to a charity. So, now I ask you, should I call him back and tell him that I donated his computer and will not refund his $20? It now just the principle of things! We did have a couple emails when he was picking up! He never replied back the second time.

Hmm... You should probably just tell him the truth and refund him. Apologize to him. It is his responsibility that he didn't pick it up. Also maybe ask eBay what to do. They should have a policy about things like that.

He should forget the $20 because it has been so long. However, you could have messaged him telling him you were donating the computer.

No. Its not your responsibility to hang on to his stuff longer than you agreed to. However, you may just want to give him 20 bucks so he doesn't bother you. Sometimes the money or principal of it isn't worth the hassle.

I think that the person should get a refund he paid for the item and since the item that he PAID for he did not get i think he should get a refund and and since he didn't pick it up you should have e-mailed him
