Question
what are some good ways to raise money for a private boarding school?
ok, please don't just answer the question from the title- i hope to one day open a private boarding school. here's the catch- i'd like about 50-75 percent of the students to be from underpriveleged areas who have outstanding grades and are deserving of a better education, and they will be on kind of a "contract scholarship"- they'll work around the school and help out in exchange for their free education. the rest will pay tuition, but i don't want it to be ridiculously expensive. the facilities DO NOT have to be 100 percent state of the art- i'm willing to use any cost cutting measures neccessary, as long as it still allows the students to have a great educational experience. i'm very dedicated to this cause, but i don't really have much money for it. how do i make money to make my dream happen?

Call a reporter for the local newspaper and ask if she will interview you about your school. If that works, offer to go on the tv morning show at 6am to be interviewed about the school. You might get discovered and find the investors you need to make this dream happen. Otherwise you just get a job and start saving money every week.

You have many hurdles to jump before you even have to consder the money issues. First the state allowing you to open such a facility, second the proper teaching personel (which will not come free or at a little cost), then a 5 million dollar liability insurance policy and on and on so a whole lot of money is on your list first off.
