this is a response from a job post that i have applied and i saw the ad from craigslist.: should i do this?
i also have checked the said address indicated, there is no no. 15, do u think this is bogus?same as the phone number indicated, it says invalid number, this is the response from her. pls help me out Its nice to read from you that you are interested in knowing more about the part time job offer.I am looking for someone who can handle my personal and business errands at his/her spare time. Someone who can offer me these services:Mail services: Receive my mails and drop them off at FedEx,Dhl,Ups(nothing illegal).Shop for Gifts,Sit for delivery( at your home) or pick items up at nearby post office at your convenience.I would love to meet up with you to talk about this job if you will like to work full time.But i am currently away to see my family. I am in Australia so there will be no interview. I will prepay you in advance to do my shopping. I will also have my mails and packages forwarded to your address. If you will be unable to stay at your house to get my mails, I can have it shipped to a post office near you and then you can pick it up at your convenience. When you get my mails/packages; you are required to mail them to where I want them mailed to. You don't have to put money out of your pocket, all you have to do is have packages shipped to your house and do my shopping. You are allowed to open the packages to reveal its content. The content of the packages are computer and electronics, clothings business and personal letters. All expenses and taxes will be covered by me.You will work between 15 and 20hrs a month. How much will you charge per month? I will pay $500. That is not a bad offer is it? I need your service because I am constantly out of town. I work in real estate and I own an Art Gallery,Clothing and Electronics Store in Australia. I will be back to states on August 25th to set-up a store,so this process will be going on till then. If you don't mind, I will meet up with you when I return and then we can talk about the possibility of making this long term. Well, let me know if you are able to handle the position..If you are able to handle it. I will email you the list and pictures of what to shop for when I am ready. No heavy packages is involved! You can do the shopping at Sears, Walmart,Bestbuy,Circuicity,Oldnavy and other stores. You will be shopping for Electronics and clothings.I will provide you my UPS,DHL,FEDEX account number for Shipping. All you have to do is provide my account number to UPS,DHL,FEDEX and shipping charges will be applied into the account. I will provide clear set of instructions for each task I need done as well the funds to cover them. If i were to mail you money order to do my shopping plus upfront payment for your service, where would you want it mailed to? are you kidding me....this is a friggin scam. stay away!!!! Its a very interesting variation of an extremely well known scam whereby the person cashes FRAUDULENT money orders!!! So here the person is sending you fradulent money orders in YOUR Name...and YOU are personally going to cash them !!!!! Not only are you going to have to pay the bank back....you are going to be answering to the POLICE about how it happens to be that YOU are cashing Fraudulent Money orders in your name !!!!! I have seen and read about many many many of these types of phony money order scams. Just for fun....send "her" an email back stating, "Everything sounds great. However, I will not buy any goods or send them anywhere until I get proof from my banking institution that the funds have cleared. Once the funds have cleared, then I will be happy to purchase the items for you. In addition, I will require proof from the courier companies that the account numbers do in fact belong to you. If this sounds acceptable to you, then I feel that your proposal is acceptable. Like I said, send it just for fun to see if they even reply.

sounds like a scam but i am not expert....if he sends you a money order...you deposit it and buy the items sending them to him....and then the check bounces (which could take up to 10 days to do)...you could get stuck paying the bank back... i would be very careful about this.

This seems like a scam. But you can google the name, address, phone number, and see if anyone else is asking this same question. Sounds a lot like that "I have money in Nigeria that needs to be transferred to an American bank" scam that went around afew years ago. Whatever you do, don't trust someone with personal information if you can't look them in the eye.

It's a SCAM. The packages they want you to mail are illegal in some way. The money order they pay you with, if you get it at all, will be stolen or forged. STAY AWAY FROM ANY OFFERS LIKE THIS

Sounds like a SCAM. Any "job" involving shipping/receiving packages are scams. My guess that the check you receive will be fake. It will take a while to bounce. In the meantime "Andrea" (not her real name....and its probably a him and not a her) will insist that you purchase items immediately and ship them to her(him). 10-14 days later, the check will bounce and your bank will be calling you because you are now on the hook for the bad check.

Well if the phone number ant place number is wrong then I don't think you should go for it. They do not sound professional, and you don't no if they are a pervs or anything. I do not know the law but my inkling is saying no.

Read the scams page posted by craigslist this sounds like a textbook example. It seems that you are going to get stuck with something that will get you in a big mess.
