Question
need apartment, horrible credit, but have lots of money?
I'm 22, been unemployed for 3 years. Currently live with mother. My credit is really bad, we're talking 3 debt accounts and a judgement bad. I'll need to move out in a couple of months. I do, however, have over $300K saved up in the bank. The problem is, I dont want to commit to buy a house as I'm not planning on staying in this area (northern virginia, USA) for very long. How do I get a company owned landlord to give me an apartment? "I doubt anyone. You cna afford to pay your bills, but don't." <------- I acquired that debt back in 2006, when I had to leave my job. There wasn't much I could do about it. I acquired my $300K in 2009. So I payed off my debt, but the judgment and the debt accounts, I've learned, will remain in my credit file for the next 5 or 7 years.

Most will not even give you a chance with bad credit. Some will take you but with a larger security deposit and or pre-paid rent. All you can do is apply and try to negotiate. HEATHER: $300K is $300,000.00 NOT $300.00 And yes, that is a lot of money!!!

If you think $300 saved up is "lots of money" you need to stay with your mom for a while. Get a job, get your credit straightened out, then think about looking for an apartment. You aren't going to get one anywhere now with only $300 and no income.

Take some of your savings and improve your credit.Credit plus cash equals real estate.

Most of company owner landlords ask for aditional deplosite if you have no/bad credit. I paid 2 months rent for my first renting.
