Question
How to secure a venture capital investment?
I've been wanting to start my own business, but have been lacking the capital to do so. I don't want to talk too much about the actual business itself, but wish to get more information on how to receive the necessary funds to start my business. Can someone help me walk through the process? One site instructs individuals seeking an investment to send an email to the company. Besides introducing myself and briefly discussing my business strategy, what should I include? I would think that things like target consumer group, type of investment needed, detailed budget, etc. would have to come later. What should be in that initial email?

If your serious, you should create a thorough business plan. The plan will describe what the product/service is, what the market is, how to market it, and the expected profit/loss expectation. i would only ask to setup an opportunity to present you item to a venture capital company or bank. Emails can do that. I would have a demo of your product to show. You want money you need to convince them your that serious. This is not a half a** effort environment anymore. Good luck. Also, be ready to sell this idea and become a small owner in this project going forward.
