Question

Where can I find info about accepting credit card payments?

I am in the process of starting a new business and would like to be able to accept credit cards as payment for orders. I am looking for any general information including prices, services, and any other helpful info. Thanks.

Contact the bank where you have your business account, they will be able to help you with what you need. You will need to get a merchant account, and probably pay rental fees for the actual card processing equipment. If you are doing an on-line business you could also look at using PayPal as it is cheaper than getting all the stuff you will need otherwise.

I signed up for credit card processing through Intuit because I use Quickbooks for my accounting and invoicing. It's very nice as it directly interfaces with Quickbooks and reduces my accounting. People's payments show up and are credited to their invoices. A lot less work.
