What are some good consumer finance companies? American General Finance?

Hello, I am a young homeowner and this week my air conditioning unit went out. Since it's the original system in my 15yr old home, it needs replacing. After shopping around for lowest bid from reputable companies, I have made a decision on one. Since I do not have the $3,200 in savings, I wanted to finance. I was referred to American General Finance for financing of this new A/C unit since they have zero financing for 1 yr. After doing research, I've found that with my credit score above 750, I should find a better place to finance through as I've read only negatives about them. Since they also do mortgages, i'm not sure if these disgruntled reviewers are their mortgage customers or personal/consumer finance customers (that could potentially skew the reviews a bit). I have the space on a credit card, but the rate is 11.99% where as this finance company has 0% for the first year. I haven't looked into prepayment penalties and such quite yet. What should I do? What are some good consumer finance companies? Thank-you!
