my dad just got fired and were in debt..Help?

OK my dad use to get payed 16 an hour at this landscape company..i don't know ..well he just got fired today because the company is closing down because of the economy..we need money to pay the bills and pay the house :(what should he do?..right now he's looking for a job on the newspaper but i don't think hell get lucky..were hispanics and he knows a little English..is there like a website or anything that will help..Please..we live in houston tx ..help please..im already helping out by having a part time job

Check the phone book for a day labor work place. Your dad can register with them to work. It probably would not provide steady income but he may be able to get some work. Many landscape and construction companies hire day labor when they need extra man power. www ... work that way. Labor Finders is one such company. Open up the phone book. Start calling landscaping companies in the area and find out if they are hiring. Have your dad get in touch with all his friends. Let them know he's looking for work and to tell him if they hear of anything. Good Luck.

Was your father being paid under the table? Or was he getting a paycheck that he claimed on his taxes? Is he a US citizen? If he was getting paid on the books, and he is a citizen, he should be able to apply for unemployment to tide your family over until he can get another job.

yes he is a citizen..ok he did ask me to look for an unemployment office..i just don't know what that is
