Question
Need a name for a high tech product.?
We've developed a wireless mesh networking product that lets network devices together on the move. It was designed for the military so it's portable, rugged, and high performance. Our company is based in Hawaii and we'd like a feel for that in the name. We want something short and high tech sounding. Maka = "net" in Hawaiian--uses all short vowels. We are playing with that but don't know how people outside of Hawaii will react to it. The product has been sold internationally under a different name. We can't trademark this name and need another. If you can help me with this I'd be grateful. Mahalo!

My first thought on the maka angle is Aethermaka. Hawaii with a touch of steam, lol. The maka idea while clever, sounds a bit too regional to me. A way to tie to the Hawaii angle may be to come up with something nautical or related to the ocean. Maybe something to do with reefs or coral, or from surfing. Whats the Hawaiian word for surfboard? Maybe even Archipelago? The military angle is tempting, too. Especially with the number of returning vets entering the marketplace. Don't overlook emergency services either as a potential market. Millynx or Mil-Lynx. Hopefully I added some new dimensions to explore. Good Luck Is this a hardware or software product?
