Excellent customer service

Question
Why is it so hard to find a Mortgage broker to work with me?
I need to relocate from Canada to Florida. I have spoken with 2 different mortgage brokers in florida, and they never return my calls, or let me know anything. I have plenty of equity, and excellent credit. I will also have an excellent paying job in Florida. What is the problem? Why can't I find good customer service anywhere?

If you do not have family or friends in Florida then ask people at your work that have used a mortgage loan officer for recommendations for someone local to that area. If you are a great candidate for a loan then they should want to take your application. The only guess I can make is maybe you are telling them you will not be writing a contract for several weeks and they are busy with people that are writing contracts now. The mortgage companies let a lot of people go. The people that are left are dealing with a huge refinance demand and now a very large purchase demand because of the first time owners tax credit- at least in my area. Plus there is always a lot of activity every summer. So they may be a bit overworked.

Transfers and foreign nationals can prove tricky in terms of lending. Some Loan Officers just aren't that good and don't want to handle things outside of their comfort zone. If you didn't qualify for a mortgage with one broker chances are you won't qualify with anyone as brokers all send their paper to the same few places. check out bankapedia ... or mortgagefit.com - they both have lender directories
