When do i have to pay back my stafford loan?

Last semester i withdrew from one of my classes. I was full time with 12 credit hours..by withdrawing i have 9 credits..I recently got a letter for a exit counseling on my load...what im not understanding is that i am going back to school in fall..so why do i have to pay the loan back...also it says in the term and conditions you will have to pay if you are graduating and if you are less then part time...someone help me understand!!!thanks amber

School loans do not have to be paid as long as the student is in class full time(usually meaning 12 credits). If you leave school you are obligated to pay back the money. Or if you stay then 6 months after graduation, payment begins, and you will get billed. If you only have 9 credits, you are considered part time, and by the terms of your loan, must begin to pay it back.

You do not have to start paying until after 6 months of your change of situation, by then you will be back full time
