Question
Who can tell me something about Pizza Hut, Papa John's or Domino's Pizza franchises?
1.) What is a general profit margin and weekly sales figure? For instance, if a store sales $15,000 worth a pizza a week, what is the profit after taking into account franchise fees, labor -hourly and management, food, insurance, utilities, etc? 2.) Of the Big 3 pizza chains, which is the “best” in terms of the franchisee dealing with corporate, etc? 3.) What do you think the future of this particular business is?

I have worked with hundreds of Pizza Franchises, including all the ones you mentiond above. You can expect your profit to be 5% of the gross sales. They really hit you hard with franchise fees. If you can afford it, i would look at a smaller less known franchise, their profit tend to be closer to 10% and the accounting restrictions arent as strict. (if you get my drift ((CASH))). As for my opinion on the big three, i think Domino's is the better franchise, Papa Johns is an expensive franchise and the build out of a Pizza Hut is through the roof. The future of the Pizza business is bright in my opinion. During a recession people order more pizza because its cheaper than feeding a family of 5 at Applebees. And people always love Pizza. Great investment if you have the time and energy to put into the restaurant.
