Question
Is it a plan every summer by the oil companies when the weather gets nice to instantly raise the gas prices?
Is it seriously just rise in oil prices or is it a scam every year how the gas prices jump as soon as the weather gets nice? What's going on? I'm getting dejavu every summer when I go to the pumps.

Not only do the refineries increase production (which increases operating costs), but in some areas they are required to change the fuel mixture to a summer blend (increase in input cost). You can thank your state EPA, and the big Mid-West Ag. lobbyists for this foolishness. BTW - It costs 1.5 gals of diesel, to produce 1 gal of ethanol.

anytime the demand rises, the price will increase. refineries must gear up the production of gasoline.
