what do u think of this marketing idea and what do u think the response will be?

straight forward idea me and my friend are setting up a food home delivery company we are experts in our field but not advertising we plan to market it in the following way one van 2 guys we will distribute 6000 sample Boxes a week to houses by hand, leaving them at peoples letter box's and door steps the box will be a very attractive packaged box with a sample cookie inside a menu of our business all professionally thought out and executed with ribbons, logos and all the info inside if we distribute 6000 a week for a month how do u gauge what the Response will be, we thought maybe 6% so 360 people will then buy and try our service, most people i have talked to think that the response will be higher due to the nature of the advertising package. there is to much detail to go into the product we are selling, it is extensive and high quality and appeals to the mass market, it is a very reliable home delivery company with a huge selection of freshly made and delivered products please could u just answer on the response rate queried i have asked direct advertising i know delivers between 1-5% we believe this will be higher what do u think?

First of all, you need to identify a target market before moving forward. It should be very specific. Marketing to the masses is not the most efficient way to utilize your budget. Your response rates get higher if you are actually getting your product in front of people who could use it. For example, senior citizens, disabled individuals, etc. Second, 6,000 boxes per day at 1 minute per delivery would take mean you would be working about 14 hours per day (7 hours each), 7 days a week. Scale that back because you will work yourselves to death and have no time to actually deal with customers. It sounds like you have a good idea, you just need an integrated marketing strategy.

Oh yes, of course. Even if you get some 3% response rate, you are bagging in a cool 720 customers. (6000*4*3%). And trust me, this is an excellent preposition to start with.
