when did symantec corporation made their site to sell the product?

hi i have got an assignment for the MIS system... i have chosen the symentec corporation... can u tell me when did they made site for selling of their product? or simply say when they did start e-commerce? plz send me that will help me in the biblography and may be i can get the further information about the company thanks in advance
