Here's a nice home affordability calculator, cgi ... This will give you an idea, but you won't know for sure what you can borrow until you actually find a lender and find out how much they're willing to lend you and at what rate. The amount you can afford (and the monthly payment) depends on the interest rate on the mortgage loan, your other monthly expenses and the amount of property taxes on the house you want to buy. According to the calculator, at 5.25% interest with a 30 year fixed loan, and other monthly debt (car payments, loans) of $750 you could afford something in the low $400s with payments of around $2500 per month. This assumes property taxes of $3500 per year. If your other monthly debt and/or the property taxes are higher then you will not be able to afford as much. This article explains what to consider when calculating your monthly debt:

you very much need to speak with a lender in your area. Only they can examine your particular situation and determine your financial home buying strength.

depending on a lot of things but could be around $350,000 or more so get with a mortgage professional in your state for approval

Your debt to income ratio will determine how much you can borrow. For all we know you can have 200,000 in credit card debt. You will need to put an application together to see what you can get approved for.
