Future living plans help?

I'm trying to figure out future living plans when I move out in two or three years hopefully. My parents said they would help pay for the MONTLY RENT. So i'm limiting it to 1,200 a month. The cost of living is probably right on target. I would definitely ask my parents to consider buying you a house near the university you are going to attend for 4 years. It is an investment but if you keep it up well or have roommates, this can help pay some of your cost of living while attending the university. Also, as home values rise, your parents may be able to recoup the cost plus any equity.
