Question

I'm applying for a teller job and I have a question about the credit check?

My then husband, now ex, took my credit card and went to a strip club and ran up a bill for 500 dollars...it was never paid. I have been unable to pay it and he doesn't care about it since its not in his name... Will this hurt my chances at getting this job? Someone told me that a bill would only count against me if it was over a certain amount.. Please help...

u need to contact your bank and tell them. he comitted fraud doing it. they can trace where the payments were made and they will know its not you. they will also get cctv footage to back your claim. contact your credit reportrs and tell them to put a 'notice of correction' on your credit report. tell them what happened. tell them your card was used fraudulently and get a password put on there so whenever you capply for credit, the credit teams will have to speak directly to you for the password before proceeding your application. do this ASAP. hopefully, if u do it in time, that job will be yours. if not, you could be wrongfully declined the position.

It just depends on the bank. If you try to explain teh charge they might be understanding, once again it depends on the bank.

Seems like the first order is a divorce. Depends on the bank you are seeking employment with.

It could affect your chance. As a teller you will need to be bonded and this could be reason for the bonding company to deny a bond. Without bonding, the bank won't hire you. Be up front with the prospective employer about this situation.

You should bring a lawsuit against the credit reporting agency for libel if it does. You don't get paid to keep their files straight.
